ADAVNTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF CHATTING

Advantages of Internet chatting
·        > You meet new people
·         >You exchange your views about certain subjects
·        >You can relax because you don't have to see the person physically
·         >If you are shy this is a way of making friends
·       >  You can treat some special friends you've met like pen pals, but you are chatting instead of writing letters like they use to 20 years ago

Disadvantages of Internet Chatting
·         >You just never know whom you are talking too. It could be an older man who is a pervert and acting out   like he is young.
·         >You may trust this person and give out your full name; address; email addy; your phone/cell number. This is very dangerous! Tell me nothing when it comes to your identity.
·         >You may think you are falling in love with the person you are chatting with, but could live thousands of miles away and long distance relationships seldom work out.
·         >If you are shy you are far more vulnerable to being hurt by someone on the Internet and may slip up giving them too much information which they could use against you and cause a myriad of problems for you.
·         > Cyberstalking is at it's peak especially among teens. This means a group of kids (just for the heck of it) pick on one person and it's really getting out of control. There are threatens (often the group of teens will act on their threats if they live in the same area.)
·     > Cyberbullying is another problem. This is where one, two or more teens picks on another teen and constantly calls them names. Being young and stupid they don't realize what they have done and the suicide rate connected with this is going up in leaps and bounds.

READING HABIT ‘S MAKE US INTELLIGENT

A reading habit is an essential life skill. Reading not only increases our knowledge, but it also builds maturity and character, sharpens our thinking, and widens our awareness in social, economic, political, and environmental issues. What most of us don’t know that, unlike speech, reading is a learned skill; our brains aren’t hard-wired to read. Although a baby can pick up speech from listening to others talking, reading requires learning. In other words, reading takes effort. It is hard work. But it builds our brain muscles. The effort to inculcate a reading habit pays off handsomely, either directly or indirectly, in our lives.

WESAK DAY...

This year Wesak Day falls on 5th May (Saturday). The Buddhist festival of Wesak (also commonly written Vesak) is one of the biggest religious celebrations in Asia! Colorfully decorated temples, beautifully adorned women, white-robed devout Buddhists, fragrant flowers, decked up statues of the Buddha and the soft chanting of hymns: this is just a bit of what Wesak day is actually like!

As a tourist in Asia, you might not be aware of the significance of Wesak Day to the Buddhists. Buddhism, being one of the key religions of the Southeast, has one very special day that commemorates the birth, the enlightenment and the passing away of Gautama Buddha. Wesak day is also commonly known as Buddha’s Birthday, or Buddha Day.
To the Buddhists, this day is a big deal, which is why devout Buddhists opt to wear complete white and reach the temple before dawn to hoist the Buddhist flag as well as to sing hymns that honor the triple gem; The Buddha, The Dharma (His Teachings) and The Sangha (His Disciples).

Horror Movie to watch

This is a1998 Japanese horror movie which been directed by Hideo Nakata, the writers of this movie is named Hiroshi Takahashi (screenplay), and the stars in this movie is  Nanako Matsushima, Miki Nakatani and Yûko Takeuchi.
Two teenagers, Masami (Hitomi Sato) and Tomoko (Yuko Takeuchi) talk about a videotape recorded by a boy in Izu which is fabled to bare a curse that kills the viewer seven days after watching. Tomoko then reveals that a week ago, she and three of her friends watched a weird tape and received a call after watching it. Awkwardly similar to the storied videotape, Masami realizes that Tomoko was fated to die. After some troubling moments, Tomoko is killed by a hidden energy with Masami having the horror of watching.

After many days later, Asakawa Reiko (Nanako Matsushima), a reporter investigating the popularity of the video curse among teenagers, discovers that her niece, Tomoko and her three other friends mysteriously died at the same time on the same night with their faces twisted in a rectus of fear. She also discovers that Masami, the girl who was with Tomoko when she died, went crazy and is now in a mental hospital. After stumbling upon Tomoko's photos from the past week, Reiko finds out that the four teenagers stayed in a rental cabin in Izu. Eventually, she flips to a photo of the teens with their faces blurred and distorted.

Later, Reiko goes to Izu and finds an unlabeled tape in the reception room of the rental cottage where the teenagers stayed. Watching the tape inside Cabin B4, Reiko sees the tape containing a series of seemingly unrelated disturbing images. As soon as the tape is over, Reiko receives a phone call, a realization of the tell-tale videotape curse. Then on, she now assumes that she has a week to live. On the first day, Reiko enlists the help of her ex-husband, Ryuji Takayama (Hiroyuki Sanada). They take a picture of Reiko and find her face blurred in the photograph, further confirming that Reiko really was cursed. Ryuji then watches the tape, against Reiko's objections. A day later, Reiko creates a copy for Ryuji for them to study. They find a hidden message embedded within the tape saying that "if you keep on doing 'shoumon', the 'boukon' will come for you." The message is in a form of language from Izu Oshima Island. The two sail for Oshima (after Asakawa's son watches the videotape) and find out the history of the great psychic Shizuko Yamamura.

With only a day left, Reiko and Ryuji discovered that Shizuko's lost daughter, Sadako, must have made the videotape. Determined, the two go back to Izu with the assumption that Sadako is dead and it was her vengeful spirit that killed the teenagers. The duo then uncover a well under Cabin B4 and realize, through a vision, that Sadako's father killed her and threw her into the well. They try to empty the well and find Sadako's body in an attempt to appease her spirit. Reiko finds Sadako's body. When nothing happens to her, they believe that the curse is broken.

Everything seems fine until the following day when Ryuji is at his home and his TV switches on by itself viewing the image of a well. He stares in horror as the ghost of Sadako crawls out of the well and out of Ryuji's TV set and kills him. Desperate to find a cure to save her son, Reiko realized what she did that Ryuji did not, thus saving her: She copied the tape and showed it to him. With a VCR and Ryuji's copy of the tape, Reiko rides to her son in effort to save him, realizing that this is a never-ending cycle: The tape must always be copied and passed on to ensure the survival of the viewers.

MALAYSIAN CULTURE

Malaysia has a combined population of over 20 million people. Because of its location between the Indian Ocean and the South China Sea, Malaysia has traditionally been a meeting place for traders and travellers from the East and West. As a result, Malaysia has a multicultural and multiracial population consisting of Malays, Chinese, Indians and numerous indigenous peoples. Although Malay is the official language, English is widely spoken, especially in business, and the English language is a compulsory subject in all schools. With such a diverse ethnic composition, it is not surprising that many religions are practiced in Malaysia. The official religion is Islam, but its people are free to observe any religion of their choice. At any place in Malaysia, it is common to see temples, mosques and churches located in close proximity.

TRAFFICKING

Trafficking in human beings has been called the slavery of the 21st century. While the phenomenon is partially known, the proportion it has assumed in recent years is not yet duly acknowledged. Up to 4 million people are reportedly trafficked annually, the majority of whom are women and children, although increasing numbers of men and boys are targeted by traffickers for forced labour exploitation and other practices. According to investigation, 5 million persons are estimated to be trafficked at any point in time.
statistic of trafficking

Recent intelligence sources describe trafficking in persons as one of the fastest growing illegal businesses globally. Even though the hidden nature of organised crime makes it difficult to have reliable and complete data, it is known that the three largest criminal activities and sources of funding for organised crime worldwide are trafficking in narcotics, human beings and weapons.

The root causes for trafficking in human beings are on the one hand unemployment, discrimination targeting often women and minority groups, and the general lack of perspectives affecting increasing numbers of people throughout the world - generating a supply of trafficking victims. On the other hand it is the increasing demand for cheap, exploitable labour, the expansion of the sex industry, and the new possibilities generated by globalisation and technology to circulate information, people and money easily from one country to another.

DISADVANTAGES OF FAST FOOD

In our country, people eat fast food far too often, because it's convenient and fast service. However, there are a host of disadvantages associated with eating fast food. It is not necessary to boycott all fast food restaurants, but it's important to limit how often you eat at them.
In the investigatin they mention that there has so much of higher their risk is of becoming obese. Additionally, it was found that the more fast food restaurants there were near a person's home, the more likely he was to be obese. One of the main reasons that fast food is fattening is because cooking oil is used in many of the foods to preserve their shelf life. If you're watching your weight, it's a better idea to cook healthy meals at home.
Other that, According to scientist , items such as French fries and chicken nuggets from many fast food chains use Tran’s fat, an artery-clogging fat used as a stabilizer in food processing. "New Scientist" explains that consuming Tran’s fat can raise your cholesterol levels and dramatically increase your risk of heart attacks.

 SMOKING FACT

For anyone who smokes, is planning to stop smoking or even just for general information, it is useful to know the essential smoking facts as obviously the cigarette habit has affected everyone at one time or other, directly or indirectly.
Smoking is today known to be the biggest cause of both preventable and premature death not only in the US, but worldwide. Smoking- related diseases are a cause of over 440,000 deaths in the US annually. In the UK this figure stands at over 105,000 annually.
The life expectancy of the smoker is cut short by 10- 12 years and more than half of all smokers die from smoking-related diseases. The younger the onset of smoking the longer one will most likely smoke and younger one is more likely to die. Smoking is a slow killer, not just to the smoker but to those also around him as they are affected by second- hand smoke.

Comparative smoking facts show that the risk of heart attack is 70% higher among smokers than among non-smokers. The incidence of lung cancer is 10 times greater in smokers than non-smokers and one out of ten of people that smoke will die from this disease. Some 80% of smokers will at one time be diagnosed with heart disease, emphysema or chronic bronchitis. Of the diseases attributable to the tobacco habit, 29% are from lung cancer and 24% are caused by heart disease.
Over and above that, other cancers have also been linked to smoking, including cancer of the throat, mouth, stomach, cervix, breast and pancreas. All this is small wonder as cigarette smoke has been found to contain over 4,000 chemical compounds and toxins, all with very harmful to human health.

The good news is you can make a big difference to your health and these smoking facts can be turned around. It is never too late to stop smoking and greatly benefit your health. And today is a good day to stop.

                                                          BLACK SWAN

Black swan‘s 2010 film, FOX SEARCHLIGHT PICTURES in association with CROSS CREEK PICTURES presents a DARREN ARONOFSKY film “BLACK SWAN” . Black swan movie content strong sexual content, disturbing violent images, language and some drug use. The movie has release on 12/3/2010 and DVD released on 20/3/2010. The movie opens as Nina Sayers (NATALIE PORTMAN), a young ballerina in her middle twenties, is dancing the opening part to Swan Lake. Swan Lake is a ballet in which a princess is turned into the White Swan and can only be turned back if a man swears endless loyalty to her. In the ballet, she is betrayed by the Black Swan, the evil magician's daughter whom the magician has transformed to look accurately like the princess so as to trick the prince who has fallen in love with her.
End of the movie, the princess attended suicide because the Prince's disloyalty has doomed her to remain a swan forever. As Nina dances in the role of the Princess, the magician appears and places the nuisance on the Princess. Nina then wakes up in her bungalow, the dance sequence having been a dream. She begins her daily ballet stretching and use to tell her mother about her dream as her mother unintentionally ignores her. Nina mentions that the director, Thomas Leroy (pronounced Tomas; the name is French), of her ballet company has promised to feature her more this season and her mother agrees that she's been there long enough.
Before I can provide you with a decent Black Swan movie analysis, we first need to take a look at the overall plot of the film. This section is filled with spoilers, so you might consider skipping this part if you‘ve yet to see the film. Black swan is set in New York City, where a respected ballet company is making plans to put on a production of Swan Lake. Aging ballet superstar Beth Macintyre (Winona Ryder) has been kicked to the curb, and company director Thomas Leroy (Vincent Cassel) is looking for some fresh meat to fill the dual lead role of the White Swan and the Black Swan.
In the scene, which Nina present one of the most tricky dances and end up developing black swan wings was realised as an arrangement live action, motion capture and computer graphic. They spend a lot of time in preproduction on the design of the wings and what the final character would look like; Darren wanted the anatomy of the human transition into the anatomy of a swan. They actually ended up buying us a swan skeleton which we digitised and created 3d net of to morph into a human skeleton, it was great to study and do research into  how is the structure of the wing and a human arm can morph into each other.
Artists described the thought of giving the personality many swan attributes, not only for the wings. In the real, Darren wanted to have long neck shape but it was always just a little bit goofy looking. It’s a beautiful moment in the film an in Nina’s head the wings were such a beautiful vision, and Natalie Portman is really so beautiful, that it didn’t really need much more than that. So we ended up with a wing growth and feathers creeping up her neck only just a little bit.
New York based curious pictures erected a motion capture set up on the college location using 24 Vicon cameras to film a professional dancer carrying out the moves. It was little bit of a jerry rig to get a sound stage set up with a motion control rig onto a location. That they did meant have to augment our motion capture data hand tracking, but it was important to start with that basis as far as the actual ballet dance.
Other than that, Thomas who encourages Nina to have a high regard for the company's new ballerina, funky free spirit and Olympic standard minx Lily (Mila Kunis), who helps release Nina's life which force with seductive overtures of friendship, and more. But Lily simply wants to steal Nina's role. As Nina's concern intensifies, she is worried about a strange feathery skin rash and it becomes swayed that her sign in the mirror continues to stare at her after she has turned away.
But, in piece of evidence, with its creepy Manhattan interiors, its scary, close up camera movements, and its surrounding conspiracy of evil, it looks more like Rosemary's Baby, particularly in cinematographer really brilliant and clever continuously explored in which Nina went out with some random guys in a club, and she then wakes up to turns to what she's doing and freaked out, blunders through shadowy winding corridors and out into the night air, there seems no difference between inside and outside. Everywhere is claustrophobic.
As the ballet movie has to be compared with Michael Powell and Emeric Press burger’s The Red Shoes, and the figure of Thomas is observably encouraged by Anton Walbrook's renowned martinet. Although, Thomas is rather less high minded and Nina's aggressive in rehearsal is also taken from Powell and Press burger. But again, their influence might be more from the convent drama Black Narcissus, and the final confrontation of Kathleen Byron and Deborah Kerr. There are also hints of John Landis's An American Werewolf in London.
This happens to be the second film recently that has used the Swan Lake theme, Xavier Beauvoir’s Of Gods and Men featured it counter naturally, at the disaster of a severe and spiritual tale of French monks. Its use in Black Swan is self-explanatory, it is more obviously grandiloquent and excessive and appropriate to the fireworks going off in Nina's head.
In both cases, the Swan Lake theme is technically digenetic, in that the music is physically present in the story, being played respectively on the monks' old tape machine and in the orchestra pit. But my goodness, Aronofsky likes to play that Swan Lake theme loud. He's probably right to do so.  Gloriously direct music needs to be punched over, and punched over it is. Motor head could not have played the Swan Lake theme any louder than this. I left the cinema with blood trickling from my ears.
Black Swan is ionospherically over the top, and some of its effects are overdone, but it is richly, sensually enjoyable and there is such fascination in seeing Portman surrender to the madness and watch her face transmute into a horror-mask like a nightmare version of Maria Callas. It is exciting, quite mad and often really scary.
